Brigid McDonnell received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Marywood University in Scranton, PA and a Masters of Public Health with a concentration in Community and Behavioral Health from the Colorado School of Public Health at the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus.
Brigid has worked for Colorado State University Extension since 2003. As an Extension Agent in Jefferson County, Colorado, Brigid spent 8 years teaching low-income families nutrition education via the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) program before beginning her tenure as an EFNEP Supervisor. In addition to her EFNEP Supervisor role, Brigid leads EFNEP Educator hiring and training, co-leads adult and youth curricula development and revision processes, and contributes to the creation and maintenance of CSU EFNEP program polices and materials. Brigid also represents CSU Extension and EFNEP on several regional and national committees.
As a Research Associate III within the CSU Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN), Brigid serves as Project Manager leading research protocol development, training of educators and data collectors, and overseeing research project implementation and fidelity. She also supports Dr. Baker on grant writing, program reporting, and manuscripts as well as management of graduate students’ projects and internships.
